Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the infallible, divinely inspired, written Word of God. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. Proper interpretation must take into account the sacred writer's intentions, use of language, style and context.

God

There is only one God. He has revealed Himself as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit).

tHE fATHER

God is a Spirit. He is the Eternal One, the Creator of all things and the Father of all humanity by creation. He is the First and the Last, and beside Him there is no God. There was no God formed before Him; neither shall be there any after Him.

JESUS CHRIST, The son

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. He is the Son of God according to flesh and the very God Himself according to the Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

THE holy ghost

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. He indwells in the hearts and lives of anyone who believes and obeys the Gospel.

THE SEPARATION

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We are all in need of salvation.

THE RECONCILIATION

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and a fresh start with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus, and commit to His will for our lives. Salvation is freely offered to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, regardless of age, gender, race, abilities, intellect, or sexual orientation. (Yes, we believe you can be both gay and saved.)

water baptism

We believe that water baptism is an ordinance given by our Lord to the Church. We believe baptism in the name of Jesus, which is the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost is an outward symbol that the individual truly belongs to God. We further believe that total immersion in water is the mode of baptism practiced in the New Testament, hence is the proper mode to be practiced by the Church.

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

  • Prayer Language - We believe that speaking in tongues is speaking miraculously in a heavenly or earthly language unknown to the speaker as the Spirit gives utterance. “Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.”
  • Gift of Tongues - We believe that the gift of tongues, with the interpretation, is for the edification of the Church.

THE CHURCH

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together.

holiness

Holiness is the outward manifestation of the character and nature of God in us. Holiness is generally not an instant occurrence, but is a transformation of the mind that takes place throughout one’s life. No one can obtain holiness by their own power, but only through the Holy Spirit.

Communion

We believe that taking communion is the time that believers remember the death and resurrection of Jesus, which is the New Covenant between God and His people. His blood provides salvation and His broken body provides healing. We eat and drink at this meal to remember our Lord’s death and celebrate our Lord’s Resurrection. “Do it all in remembrance of Me.”

Righteousness

We believe righteousness is the inward change that has taken place in a person’s heart after accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

healing

We believe that healing for the mind, body and spirit is available for all creation. Healing was made possible by the stripes that our Lord Jesus Christ bore for us. We believe in anointing the sick and the laying on of hands. We believe Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Tithing & Giving

We believe that it is the responsibility of the church to support itself by the giving of tithes and offerings of the congregation. When we give our tithes and offerings we make it possible that the church can thrive and that we are also able to take the word of the Lord to all the earth. When we tithe we show the Lord that we walk with Him in faith and obedience.

Marriage

The biblical principal for marriage is a ceremonial consecration performed by an ordained minister or judge between two consenting unrelated adults (no matter their sexual orientation and according to the law) that wish to make a loving commitment to one another for life before God and witnesses.
